Aktuální mezinárodní doporučení terapie alergické rýmy (17) zdůrazňují také potřebu získat spolupráci samotného pacienta. Ukazuje se, že zohlednění jeho očekávání a preferencí zlepšuje adherenci k terapii a její výsledky. Při komunikaci s pacientem je možno doporučit celou řadu moderních technologií, které umožňují např. sledovat výskyt pylů, pomáhají pacientům kontrolovat jejich stav a připomínají jim pravidelné užívání léků (18).
