Based on these information we can usually divide alopecia on diffuse and focal. The article reviews basic facts and physiology of hair growth cycle, followed by a review of current treatment options of most frequent types of hair loss. Main focus is given to the most frequent hair loss, i.e. androgenic alopecia, which is treated differently in men and women. Because of typical finding we mention in detail problems of alopecia areata. Other clinical units are described briefly.
