Drugs and breast feeding

Almost all lactating women receive some medications immediately postpartum and during breastfeeding. Almost all medications transfer into human milk. The use of medications in breastfeeding mothers always requires a careful assessment of risk versus benefit, on the other hand interrupting breastfeeding for unsound reasoning such as a medication should be avoided if at all possible.
