Age-related macular degeneration Age-related macular degeneration is an ocular disorder that leads to the deterioration of the center
of the retina, resulting in loss of central vision. The risk of age-related macular degeneration increases with age, as the name suggests.
Age-related macular degeneration usually produces a slow, painless loss of vision. In rare cases, however, vision loss can be sudden. There
are two types of age-related macular degeneration: wet and dry. Various forms of the disease, etiopathogenesis as well as diagnosis
and therapy are discussed in this review article.
