Oral antidiabetics

The pandemic of civilization diseases including diabetes mellitus and the risk of cardiovascular complications represent a challenge for primary prevention. As the efforts to stop the pandemic have failed so far, attention has to be paid to therapeutic measures. Oral antidiabetics are indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and have been used as such for nearly as long as insulin.
