Pharmaceutical care and its applications in clinical praxis

Safety of the pharmacotherapy depends on the detection of the risk of drugs and the risk factors of individual patients and on the effective prevention of the drug induced injury in the praxis. Pharmacists can play an important role in providing effective and safe pharmacotherapy and prediction of its risks as well as drug interactions and adverse events. By giving the adequate information about the medicine, they can increase patients’ compliance. To provide more complex pharmaceutical care it is necessary to improve the communication between the pharmacist and patient as well as the pharmacist and the medical doctor and other health care professionals. The orientation of the pharmacists on the pharmaceutical care needs to improve the education of the pharmacists in Slovak republic. The article put nearer complex information about pharmaceutical care, its positives and negatives not only in the Slovak republic but also worldwide.
