Studie VALIANT je dvojitě slepá srovnávající valsartan, captopril a kombinaci obou, u nemocných po AIM s dysfunkcí levé komory. Studie ukázala, ľe valsartan je stejně účinný ve sledovaných cílech jako captopril a kombinační léčba má více neľádoucích účinků bez zlepąení přeľívání.

VALIANT - Valsartan, Captopril, or Both in Myocardial Infarction Complicated by Heart Failure, Left Ventricular Dysfunction, or Both

Study VALIANT is double-blind trial compared the effect of the valsartan, captopril, nad combination of the two on mortality among patients with myocardial infartion complicated by left ventricular systolic dysfunction (MI with LVSD). Conlcusion:valsartan is as effective as captopril in patients with MI and LVSD. Combination valsartan and captopril increased the rate of adverse events without improving survival.
