Když jsme před dvěma roky zorganizovali spolu s prof. MUDr. Jiřinou Martínkovou, CSc., sympozium věnované 80. narozeninám pana profesora, netušili jsme, že to bude poslední hold, kterého se osobně zúčastní. V úvodním -laudatio-, které jsme nazvali -osobnost prof. MUDr. Vojtěcha Grossmanna v poválečné historii československé farmakologie-, jsem se pokusil zachytit nejen hmatatelné výdobytky jubilantových výzkumů, ale i oprášit ve svých paměťových stopách sem tam něco z toho, co se v nich z naší více jak půl stoleté spolupráce zafixovalo. Teď, kdy se životní kniha pana profesora uzavřela a kdy se mi dostává cti, abych se jménem farmakologické obce a jménem těch, kteří ho měli rádi, poklonil jeho odkazu, se - s pohnutím a s pocitem bezmocnosti nad jednou ze zákonitostí přírody - znovu vracím k tomu všemu, co dávno či méně dávno tvořilo jeho osobnost a co jeho vědecká osobnost vytvořila...
